Success Stories that are a meteorite “shoot to the top” (are generally the exception)!

More often Success Stories are a result of going the distance and not stopping short. Edison is a good example of this.  Even though he was a very successful inventor and invented the light bulb, the phonograph, the motion picture camera, the microphone and a thousand other things, he referred to failure as an intricate part of his success. He believed that failure was what led him to his success. He looked at the each failure in the process of inventing the light bulb as a step taking him closer to having a workable prototype.

Business Success Stories are aptly demonstrated by all the people that have found success losing weight through Weight Watchers.  Jean Nidetch the founder of Weight Watchers originally invited some friends to her home in Queens to turn failure into success by discussing how to best lose weight. Today over 1,000,000 people attend weekly meetings to band together to succeed in losing weight.

Another amazing story of turning failure into success involves Albert Einstein.  Albert Einstein is often considered one of the smartest men to have lived, however, in his early years Einstein had been asked to drop out of grade school by his teacher and he could not get into the Swiss Military Academy.  Many things in Einstein’s early life seemed to indicate he was not destined for success.  However, ultimately he proved his critics wrong and was able to revolutionize the way the world thinks about time, space  and gravity.

Colonel Saunders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken is a business success story that shows that no matter how long it takes ultimately you can succeed if you keep trying is He was virtually broke when he went on the road to sell his secret recipe to restaurants. He sold his first franchisee on the same day he received his first social security check   Twenty two years later, in 1979 there were 6,000 KFC Restaurants.

What is the central theme of these Success Stories?

  • These people did not give up.
  • They did not stop short when obstacles seemed to block their path.
  • They went the distance to find solutions.

Not stopping short and going the distance are essential keys to writing your own Success Story.  You never know what is right around the corner or might turn up next.  Even though what you are engaged in might not look as though you are headed in the direction of success, if you stay engaged, stay on the path and keep moving forward you will be surprised how can things turn around for you.

Two most essential factors are staying encouraged and having an attitude that what you desire to come about is possible.

It is important to keep in mind that no matter what you are experiencing looks like it is leading where you want to go. Keep track of your failures and missteps so you can use them for building stones for future success.  Whether it be a Business Success Story or a Personal Success Story you are writing if you stay encouraged and stay on the path your Success Stories will have a good outcome.
