Recently I had someone tell me that my face was not connected to what I was telling him I did. At first I was a little offended. I thought to myself, I know what I do. Fortunately we kept talking until we hit the light switch and my face lit up with what I was talking about.
Suddenly, as we continued to talk about this topic I could feel my passion for the subject rising, excitement bubbling up and ideas coming in like a burst of crashing waves. Funny thing about this is I had written about your face is the picture of your connection to what you do for a few years. The thing I saw that day was, it is not only what we do that lights us up, but how engage with it. Also that it is good to check in and every now and then and see if we still light up with what we are doing.
We are our business. When a person buys or interacts us it is because they connect with who we are being and the belief and passion we bring to the table.
When we light up and connect others will connect with us and what we do.
There are people looking for all kinds of things. It is our connecting around what we do that is a bacon to draw those to us to buy, receive, interact and connect with us and our products.
What turns the lights on for you about what you do, your life? If there are no lights maybe it is time to look at a different way, or route to engage and profit.
Our faces, our being, is like a light bulb that turns on and shines when the power of our passion, conviction, and interests are switched on and engaged.
Each of us has a different power source. When we learn what it is, the juice flows.

It’s so true. Often times my power source to refill has been music and my family, and loved ones. I have noticed the more conscience I’ve become of my own energy, the more I believe our process of sharing our talents and renewal is so important. Plugging into things that fuel us is one of the most under-rated, yet critical, parts of our day. We all benefit from the give and take process in life – both sides super important for fueling our passion.
The burning passion that many of us feel for our interests and missions attracts others to us. That passion is as individualized as we are. The truly fulfilled people can harnass their passion and feel fulfilled.

This is so true and life is (honestly) too short not to be using your gifts and doing “your” work. Finding the power is sometimes hard — and sometimes it doesn’t pay the bills – but I believe that we owe it to the world to find it and use it — because thats how it grows brighter.
I wonder if there is a process that one could develop to help us identify what truly lights up our face? I believe we often do what we “think” is our passion when it is actually something that is just easy or convenient. Think what bright, happy place we would be in if we were truly engaged in our passion!!
You’re right on! The light and the power are within and what is within manifests without. Sometimes the batteries get weak and the power and passion dwindle. The essence of them are still there. They just need to be nourished – physically, mentally, spiritually and relationally. ……
